But the hourglass holds a magical power as it could turn back the time which will depend on the amount of the sand that is magical you will use.
The uncle of Prince Dastan whose name is Nizam asked Prince Dastan to deliver a treasure that they have captured to King Sharaman. The treasure is a cloak. Upon this arrival in the palace of the King and has given the King his cloak he collapsed. It is just the time that they came to realize that the cloak which was delivered was with poison. The prime suspect was Prince Dastan and the whole army chased him just like he was a guilty culprit.
You will find out in the latter part that the king adopted Prince Dastan along with his two brothers. Even though they consider themselves to be just one family, the brothers would like to see the person who murdered their father to be punished. Yes, even if it costs the life of their brother. Prince Dastan eventually looks for Princess Tamina because she is the only person who could help him be acquitted. While looking for her, he found out the magic of the sands of time.
